Commlite Adapter CM-EF-E HS - Canon EF / Sony E

Description

The Commlite CM-EF-E HS is a high-performance bayonet adapter that allows a wide range of lenses from the Canon EF / EF-S* system to be mounted on Sony E-mount bodies. The Commlite CM-EF-E HS features an advanced electronic circuit that allows two-way communication between the camera and lens.

Fast and intuitive installation

The adapter is mounted on the camera body bayonet in the same way that lenses are mounted. The lens is then clipped into the adapter bayonet. The whole process is quick and intuitive.

Advanced communication

The Commlite CM-EF-E HS has an electronic circuit and gold-plated contacts that allow the camera to communicate with the lens. This allows the AF motor (focusing), aperture control (exposure setting) and optional image stabilisation (if the lens offers this function) to operate in the lens. All EXIF information from the lens is also transferred to the camera. A button on top of the adapter allows the AF system to be switched between phase detection and contrast detection modes, depending on conditions and operator preference.

Always up to date

The built-in micro USB port allows the adapter’s software to be updated so that it is always up-to-date with the list of compatible lenses and cameras. Using the latest software ensures faster and more precise autofocus performance, even in low-light scenes, and compatibility with the latest cameras and lenses.

Different modes of operation

Depending on the mode selected, the camera can select focus and aperture automatically or they can be set manually. Parameters in manual modes are selected from the camera buttons or menu and lens rings. The device is suitable for both photography and filming.

Quality and precision

The adapter is made with extreme care, using durable aluminium and the highest quality plastics. The compact design and removable foot allows the mounting of lenses with a wide barrel. The satin interior finish minimises the risk of flare and blips, and the 1/4″ female tripod mount allows for tripod mounting.
