It includes a 1/4" counterbore slot and a cold shoe.  The arrowheads on the cold shoe point to anti-off direction.

The cold shoe is compatible with microphones, and wireless microphones.

In addition, the cold shoe extends beyond the cage, thus it will not block the buttons and ports of the cage.

SmallRig Cold Shoe Extension 2879 is designed to hold accessories on the side of your rig when using cameras. The cold shoe mount maintains access to camera buttons after mounting a microphone or light. It secures to cages and plates with two captive 1/4”-20 screws to prevent it from losing. The cold shoe features a stopper edge in one end to prevent your accessory from suddenly sliding out.
