Compatible with all of Lensbaby’s current and legacy Optic Swap lens bodies, the Soft Focus II improves on its predecessor by adding a 12-blade manually adjustable internal aperture to its unique and versatile drop-in magnetic aperture system.
When shot at its brightest aperture settings, the SoftFocus II creates an impressionistic image with subtlesharp detail beneath. Rendering a color palette tendingtoward soft pastels at brighter apertures and producinga remarkably flat field of focus, this optic makes possible images that are impossible to achieve with any otherlens.
Stopped down to f/8 or darker, the Soft Focus IIproduces beautifully detailed, traditionally sharp imageswith a large central area of focus and out-of-focus edgeson full-frame sensors and 35mm film. Quick variability ofthe optical effect from impressionistic and full of glowto contrasty and sharp is made possible by the internal12-blade aperture that is adjusted by turning the front of the optic.
