The Voigtlander Nokton 40 mm f/1.2 is a super-bright, manual standard lens with above-average optical quality and remarkable imaging plasticity. A native Z-mount version of the lens adapted for use with modern Nikon mirrorless cameras.
40 mm
The lens’ focal length of 40 mm is the golden mean between wide-seeing and telephoto lenses. The slightly wider angle compared to standard 50mm will find use in filming and street and reportage photography. Its natural imaging character will capture both stunning portrait shots and breathtaking landscapes.
Optical design
The optical system of the Nokton 40 mm f/1.2 consists of eight lenses arranged in six groups, two of which are double-sided aspherical lenses. The use of the highest quality Japanese optical glass allows for extremely sharp and faithful images.
Smooth control of light
A wide range of aperture settings from f/1.2 to f/22 with 1/3 EV accuracy allows comfortable oaz precise control over depth of field. The extremely shallow depth of field using the maximum aperture allows a single element to be separated from the composition and the background to be blurred. The lens’ high brightness also makes it easy to shoot in low-light conditions. The precision-made 10-blade, meanwhile, guarantees beautiful, atmospheric bokeh.
