Wireless Lens Control System
The Tilta Nucleus-M is a revolutionary and highly customizable 3-channel wireless lens control system designed for precise control of focus, iris, and zoom. It offers full control via the FIZ hand unit or the two wireless hand grips, with the ability to split channel control between them at the push of a button.
Wireless Range and Mounting Options
The system provides a wireless range of up to 305 meters (1,000 feet), with an upcoming transmission upgrade planned to extend this range to approximately 1.6 kilometers (1 mile), making it ideal for drone or vehicle-mounted shots. The hand grips can be attached to included rosette mounts for handheld operation, top bar-based gimbals using the included Nucleus-M Hand Grip to Gimbal Adapters, or ring-based gimbals with optional Universal Gimbal Ring Adapters.
Motor Design and Power
Each motor features a built-in motor drive that communicates directly with the hand unit and hand grips, eliminating the need for separate motor drive receivers and enabling a more compact and faster setup. Motors clamp onto 19mm rods or 15mm rods using included bushings, allowing easy attachment and detachment without removing other accessories. Each motor includes a 0.8 mod, 35-tooth, 32-pitch gear compatible with standard cinema lenses.
The motor torque at 14.8 V is 2.5 Nm. Power is supplied through a single P-tap port on the camera rig, with daisy-chaining to additional motors via included 7-pin to 7-pin cables.
Calibration and Control Features
The motors support automatic lens calibration and manual calibration for lenses without hard end stops at close focus and infinity. Remote start/stop functionality is available by connecting a compatible Nucleus-M R/S cable to the motor's 7-pin port, enabling control through the hand unit and handles.
Power and Battery Life
The hand unit and hand grips are each powered by two 18650 rechargeable batteries (not included). Fully charged, the hand grips can operate up to 2 days, while the hand unit lasts up to 10 hours.
