The TerraMaster D9-320 is a high-performance Direct Attached Storage (DAS) enclosure featuring 9 bays compatible with 3.5" and 2.5" SATA HDDs and 2.5" SATA SSDs. It is designed to store large data sets and expand storage capacity efficiently.
Storage Capacity
Supporting up to 24 TB drives per bay, the enclosure offers a maximum total capacity of 216 TB (9 × 24 TB). This makes it ideal for applications such as graphic design studios, film production, server environments, and home multimedia centers. Each drive bay operates independently by default, with RAID configurations managed via external software.
High-Speed Data Transfer
Equipped with a USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C interface, the D9-320 delivers data transfer speeds up to 10 Gb/s. In practical use with multiple SSDs, it achieves read speeds up to 1016 MB/s and write speeds up to 960 MB/s, facilitating fast video copying, backups, and handling of large databases. The package includes both USB-C to USB-C and USB-A to USB-C 10 Gb/s cables (0.8 m) for versatile connectivity.
Daisy Chain Expansion
The enclosure features an additional 10 Gb/s USB Host port enabling daisy-chaining of multiple storage devices. This allows users to expand storage capacity without occupying extra ports on their computers, providing flexible scalability for growing storage needs.
Power Management and Drive Protection
Each of the nine bays has an individual power switch, allowing selective powering down of unused drives to reduce energy consumption. The device safely disconnects drives when powered down, protecting read/write heads and data integrity. An automatic sleep mode further reduces drive operation time, minimizing wear and extending system lifespan.
Cooling and Noise Control
The enclosure incorporates an intelligent cooling system with three fans and four temperature sensors that continuously monitor and adjust fan speeds according to workload.
