Freewell Brandon Li 77mm Variable Density ND/CPL Filter Set
The Freewell Brandon Li 77mm set is a modular filter system for photography and videography in varying lighting conditions. It combines a variable neutral density (VND) filter with an adjustable range of 1–5 stops and a CPL polarising filter. When paired with the included ND32 filter, it extends light reduction to 6–10 stops. The set also includes a 1/4 Glow Mist filter, a 77 mm base ring, protective caps, and storage and cleaning accessories for planned shoots and dynamic on-location filming.
Independent VND and CPL Adjustment
The VND/CPL module lets you control light reduction and polarisation separately. The front black ring adjusts the VND filter from 1 to 5 stops, allowing exposure to be adapted to changing conditions without frequent camera-setting changes. The rear green ring adjusts the CPL, which helps reduce glare from water, glass and other non-metallic surfaces while improving colour accuracy and scene contrast.
1 to 10 Stops of Light Reduction
In its basic VND/CPL configuration, the filter adjusts from ND2 to ND32, corresponding to 1–5 stops of light reduction. In brighter conditions, the additional ND32 filter attaches magnetically to extend the range to 6–10 stops, up to the equivalent of ND1000. The ND32 filter can also be attached directly to the base ring, allowing the kit to be configured for a specific shot without carrying several separate filter systems.
Magnetic Mounting and Glow Mist 1/4
The magnetic system enables quick filter attachment and removal, while a locking mechanism helps keep filters securely in place when moving with the camera or changing framing. The included Glow Mist 1/4 filter can be mounted directly on the base ring or attached magnetically to the VND/CPL module. It gently softens bright areas and highlights, an effect suited to portrait, urban and cinematic shots.
18-Layer Coatings and True Color Technology
The optical design uses 18-layer coatings to reduce reflections and maintain image clarity. The Anti-Color Shift Layer, part of True Color technology, helps minimise unwanted colour shifts during light reduction so colours remain as natural as possible throughout the filter’s operating range. Front and rear protective caps are included; the front cap has an integrated grey card for white balance control.
