The Canon GPS Receiver GP-E1 is designed exclusively for use with the Canon EOS-1D X camera. It connects via the camera's extension system terminal, allowing the hot shoe to remain accessible and is powered directly by the camera, ensuring seamless integration without adding bulk.

Geographical Data Recording
The GP-E1 automatically appends accurate geographical coordinates and cardinal points as Exif data to both images and videos. It records latitude, longitude, altitude, and cardinal direction regardless of whether the camera is held vertically or horizontally. The receiver can even detect altitude from inside aircraft such as airplanes or helicopters.
Accurate Time Synchronization
The receiver provides precise clock adjustments by synchronizing the EOS-1D X's internal clock with Coordinated Universal Time (UTC) transmitted from the GP-E1, achieving a margin of error of approximately 0.01 seconds.
Software Included
