Product Features and History
ILFORD introduced the world’s first variable contrast MULTIGRADE paper in 1940 and has continuously evolved the range to become the preferred black & white paper for discerning darkroom printers worldwide.
The current emulsion design maintains the long-standing tradition of MULTIGRADE quality, providing enhanced response where needed. This paper reveals subtle highlight details while rendering shadows in deep, rich blacks, accentuated by the bright white base.
Usage and Compatibility
This paper is ideal for beginners printing directly from negatives as well as advanced users seeking full creative control. It is part of the ILFORD MULTIGRADE system, allowing seven full grades of contrast when used with ILFORD MULTIGRADE filters.
Additionally, MULTIGRADE RC DELUXE is available in Cooltone and Warmtone variants. It is compatible with most common safelights for black & white darkroom paper, such as the ILFORD 902 safelight filter.
