The 'C' in ZEISS C Sonnar T* 1,5/50 ZM stands for both 'compact' and 'classic'. This lens design and aperture geometry are inspired by the original Sonnar 1,5/50 from the 1930s, which was the fastest standard lens of its era.
Optical Performance
The lens features excellent flare control inherent to the Sonnar design, further enhanced by the ZEISS T* anti-reflection coating. This ensures high contrast and color fidelity even in challenging lighting conditions.
