The filter is densest at the edge and tapers to clear by the middle, featuring a sharp-edged transition line between dense and clear areas. This filter is typically used when the separation between bright and dark areas is well defined, such as the horizon line or the boundary between sea level and sky.
The filter's design is optimized for digital sensors, promoting nearly flat attenuation of visible and infrared light. To ensure high neutrality across visible and infrared spectrums, eliminate color casts, and provide cleaner, truer blacks, each surface is treated with one layer of NiSi Optical Nano Coating.
