Celestron Polar Finder AVX/CGEM

Get assistance in polar aligning your Celestron CGEM, Advanced VX, or CG-5 mount with the Polar Finderscope. Install it into the polar finder port at the rear of the mount and focus the eyepiece until the reticle is sharp.

The reticle features recognizable star patterns to aid in telescope alignment. In the Northern Hemisphere, you will see the Big Dipper and the 'W' of Cassiopeia. Use the Big Dipper in spring and summer, and Cassiopeia in fall and winter. The North Star, Polaris, and the North Celestial Pole (NCP) are also marked on the reticle. Align your telescope so that the stars match the reticle positions, then adjust the azimuth and altitude controls to center Polaris in the crosshairs.

The Celestron Polar Axis Finder is also suitable for the Southern Hemisphere, with four stars from the Octans constellation etched in the reticle. Adjust your telescope until these stars align as indicated.
