Manfrotto 120-38 Adapter for Tripods

The Manfrotto 120-38 is a short, double-ended 3/8-16 male-to-female aluminum spacer designed to raise Manfrotto 3263 (405) or 410 geared heads 30 mm above the tripod top plate. This extra clearance allows the head to achieve its full 90° forward tilt and 30° backward tilt without the base hitting the tripod shoulders, making it essential for anyone using a 405/410 Pro Geared Head on compact or narrow-topped tripods.

Without the Manfrotto 120-38 adapter, many tripods (especially travel and older models) restrict the 405/410 geared head to only 70° forward tilt due to the heads bottom plate crashing into the tripod's top casting. This simple aluminum spacer screws onto the tripod's 3/8 stud first, then the geared head screws onto the spacer, instantly restoring the full 90°/30° tilt range.
