ELEGOO Centauri 2 3D Printer
The ELEGOO Centauri 2 is an FDM 3D printer with a CoreXY design, print speeds of up to 500 mm/s, maximum acceleration of 20,000 mm/s² and a build volume of 256 × 256 × 256 mm. It features a nozzle that heats up to 350°C, a direct-drive Dual-Gear extruder and fully automatic calibration with 121-point bed levelling. Its rigid die-cast frame helps stabilise the structure, while the 5-inch touchscreen, Wi-Fi and USB connectivity, and print-monitoring features support straightforward operation.
High-speed printing with the CoreXY system
The CoreXY design enables print speeds of up to 500 mm/s, with a recommended speed of 250 mm/s. Default acceleration is 10,000 mm/s² and can be increased to a maximum of 20,000 mm/s², helping reduce print times, particularly for larger projects. The rigid die-cast frame provides a stable base for the moving components and helps minimise the effect of vibration on prints.
Nozzle temperature up to 350°C
The Centauri 2 uses a 0.4 mm nozzle that can operate at temperatures up to 350°C. Its direct-drive Dual-Gear extruder provides controlled filament feeding, including when printing with flexible materials. The printer is designed for 1.75 mm PLA, PETG, PLA-CF and TPU filaments, making it suitable for prototypes, models and functional parts.
Automatic calibration
Full-Auto Calibration reduces the need for manual setup before starting a print. The 121-point automatic bed-levelling system adjusts the build plate to help provide suitable conditions for the first layer. The double-sided spring-steel plate has a textured PEI surface on one side and a PLA-compatible surface on the other, allowing you to choose the appropriate side for the material.
Build volume: 256 × 256 × 256 mm
The 256 × 256 × 256 mm build volume accommodates larger models or several smaller parts in one print job. Print accuracy is ±0.1 mm. Layer heights range from 0.1 to 0.4 mm, with 0.2 mm recommended, so print settings can be adjusted to balance detail and completion time.
Print process monitoring
A filament end sensor and clog detection help the printer respond to material-feed issues. Other features include automatic filament unloading, fan self-diagnostics and detection of print-cooling-fan malfunctions. Power-loss recovery allows an interrupted print to be resumed, which is useful for longer projects.
Touchscreen, Wi-Fi and operation
The printer runs ELEGOO OS and is controlled using a 5-inch colour capacitive touchscreen. Projects can be transferred via Wi-Fi or USB. For model preparation, the Centauri 2 is compatible with ElegooSlicer, Orca and Cura, and supports STL, OBJ, 3MF and STEP input formats. Included maintenance accessories include tools and a nozzle-cleaning needle for mechanically clearing a clogged nozzle.
