Large Build Volume and High Print Speed

The Anycubic Kobra S1 Max Combo is an enclosed FDM 3D printer for large models, multi-part projects and prints made with engineering materials. Its 350 × 350 × 350 mm build volume accommodates large parts or several smaller components at once. The all-metal CoreXY design uses linear guides on the X and Y axes. On the Z axis, a single motor drives three trapezoidal screws and three guides for stable movement. Recommended print speed is 300 mm/s, with a maximum of 600 mm/s; the manufacturer states that a Benchy test model can be printed in 15 minutes. Dual cooling fans help cool successive layers during high-speed printing.

Automatic Calibration with LeviQ 3.0

LeviQ 3.0 automates printer preparation and helps produce a reliable first layer without extensive manual adjustment. Adaptive levelling compensates for the build-plate surface, while flow-dynamics calibration regulates filament feed for consistent material deposition.

Filament Compatibility and Heated Chamber

The hotend reaches up to 350°C, the build plate heats to 120°C, and the actively heated chamber reaches up to 65°C. These conditions support a wide range of filaments: PLA, PETG, TPU, PET, PVA, ABS, ASA, PC, PA, PA6-CF, PC-CF, PC-GF, PET-CF, PLA-CF and PETG-CF. The printer can therefore be used for basic models and functional parts as well as projects made with carbon- or glass-fibre-reinforced materials.

Components for Technical Materials

The extruder has a hardened-steel gear for use with carbon-fibre-reinforced filaments. A titanium-alloy coupler provides a thermal barrier to help reduce the risk of clogs during high-temperature printing. The hardened-steel nozzle resists abrasive materials and has a stated service life six times longer than a brass nozzle.

ACE 2 Pro Multicolour Module

The included ACE 2 Pro enables four-colour printing and can be expanded to support up to 16 colours. Four independent brushless motors feed the material, while a next-generation buffer supports smooth filament feeding and retraction and helps reduce jams. Filament loading speed is increased by 100%; according to the manufacturer, this saves 77 minutes over 100 material changes.

Filament Drying and Management

ACE 2 Pro actively dries filament at temperatures up to 65°C, including during printing. Built-in temperature and humidity sensors monitor conditions inside the module, and a solenoid valve actively removes moisture. The module estimates the remaining filament, supports automatic filament changes and refills, and identifies filament to reduce the need for manual spool monitoring.

Print Monitoring and Recovery

AI-based functions detect foreign objects on the build plate and “spaghetti” print failures. Object Skipping can bypass a damaged part when printing a series of models. The printer can resume a job after a pause or power loss, and a filament-end sensor helps prevent a print from stopping when a spool runs out.

Operation, Noise and Filtration

The printer can be ready to print in about 10 minutes after unboxing. A Quick-Release Hotend and accessible waste channel simplify routine operation, while a 4.3-inch capacitive touchscreen provides control. Quiet mode reduces printer noise to 45 dB. ACE 2 Pro operates below 48 dB, and its motors have a rated lifespan of at least 5,000 hours. An activated-carbon filter is fitted, and an additional activated-carbon pack is included.

Software and Connectivity

The printer is compatible with AC Slicer, PrusaSlicer and Cura. Anycubic Slicer provides preset parameters for different materials. Supported input formats are STL and OBJ; the output format is GCode. The Anycubic app enables remote, real-time print monitoring and time-lapse recording, while Makeronline provides access to a model library. Connectivity includes 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi 6 support and an Ethernet port.
