Advanced Stabilization and Autofocus
The lens features dual microprocessors: one dedicated to autofocus powered by the USD motor, providing faster and more accurate focusing; the other dedicated to image stabilization, capable of compensating camera shake up to five shutter steps for sharper handheld images.
Optical Performance
The optical construction includes three Extra Refractive (XR) glass elements and two Low Dispersion (LD) glass elements to reduce chromatic aberrations. Four aspherical elements (three cast glass and one hybrid aspherical) ensure minimal distortion and high resolution across the entire image field at all focal lengths and apertures.
