Wind Noise Reduction

When filming outdoors, even slight breezes can cause microphones to pick up wind noise. This package includes a fuzzy windscreen that fits the shape of the DR-701D and DR-70D recorders, physically reducing wind noise interference.

Shoe Mount Adapter

The shoe mount adapter can be attached to a camera accessory shoe at the bottom, while the top features a shoe mount adapter with a tripod screw. This allows the recorder to be mounted on the accessory shoe of a digital SLR camera. Additionally, by mounting the accessory shoe on top of the DR-701D/DR-70D case, users can attach a shotgun microphone or wireless microphone transmitter directly to the recorder, enabling versatile setup options.

Audio Connectivity and Monitoring

The DR-701D/DR-70D recorders include an output jack that enables audio input through the unit to be recorded directly to the camera. The package provides two 3.5-mm stereo mini jack cables to facilitate this connection. With these cables, users can monitor audio from both the recorder and the camera simultaneously using a single set of headphones without changing connections. One cable connects the DR-701D/DR-70D CAMERA OUT jack to the camera’s AUX IN (or other audio input) jack, while the other connects the camera’s headphone output jack to the DR-701D/DR-70D CAMERA IN jack.
