8K Action Camera with Dual Lenses
The SJCAM SJ30 captures video at resolutions up to 8K at 20 fps and takes photos at up to 48 MP. Its dual-lens system is designed for daytime and low-light recording, while SteadyMotion 2.0 stabilisation and 45° horizon levelling help produce smoother, more balanced footage. Other features include a 2.51-inch tilting touchscreen, voice control and native vertical recording. The built-in 2,000 mAh battery can be supplemented with an optional 4,200 mAh battery grip, extending runtime to up to 7 hours.
Video and Photo Capture
Record sports, travel and other action in 8K resolution at 20 fps, with high resolution for capturing fine detail. The camera also supports photos up to 48 MP, for detailed textures, landscapes and close-ups.
Day and Night Lenses
The dual-lens system adapts to different lighting conditions. The daytime lens is designed for natural colour reproduction in bright light, while the Starlight night lens, with an f/1.8 aperture, captures more light in low-light environments. The camera also features noise reduction to help limit image noise and blur. The listed apertures are f/2.8 for daytime and f/1.8 for night recording.
Stabilisation and Levelling
SteadyMotion 2.0 reduces shake and vibration during activities such as cycling and skiing, as well as when recording handheld. Smart levelling within a 45° range helps keep the image level when the camera tilts or rotates. A 6-axis gyroscope supports the stabilisation system.
Tilting Touchscreen and Vertical Recording
The 2.51-inch tilting touchscreen provides a preview and camera controls. Its adjustable position is useful for selfies, vlogging and recording from different angles. Native vertical video recording captures footage in a 9:16 format without requiring a later crop, making it suitable for platforms such as Instagram, TikTok and YouTube Shorts.
Battery and Audio
The built-in 2,000 mAh battery provides power for recording. An optional grip with an additional 4,200 mAh battery can extend operating time to up to 7 hours. A detachable windscreen helps reduce wind interference outdoors, particularly at higher speeds. The camera has two built-in microphones and supports the SJCAM M4 wireless external microphone; connect its receiver to begin recording audio.
Hands-Free Control and Other Functions
Voice commands let you start photo and video capture without reaching for the camera’s buttons or screen. Additional functions include live streaming, pre-recording, loop recording, motion detection, time lapse, slow motion, car mode, delayed recording and portrait mode.
