SJCAM C300 Action Camera (black)

4K recording and a wide field of view

The SJCAM C300 action camera captures 4K footage during activities where using a smartphone is inconvenient or impractical, including cycling, motorcycling, skiing and underwater recording. It records at up to 3840 × 2160 pixels at 30 fps and takes photos at up to 20 MP. Its f/2.0 lens provides a 154° field of view, while distortion correction and 8× digital zoom offer additional framing options.

Video recording resolutions include 4K (3840 × 2160) at 30 fps, 2.5K (2560 × 1920) at 30 fps, 2K (2560 × 1440) at 60 or 30 fps, Full HD (1920 × 1080) at up to 120 fps, and 720p (1280 × 720) at up to 120 fps. Portrait video is also supported at 1088 × 1920 at 30 fps in Full HD and 720 × 1280 at 30 fps in 720p. Photo resolutions range from 2 MP to 20 MP.

Stabilisation and slow motion

Six-axis gyroscopic stabilisation helps reduce camera shake on bumpy trails, during fast descents and when recording handheld. Slow-motion options include 2× in 2K at 60 fps, 4× in 1080p at 120 fps and 8× in 720p at 120 fps, making fast action easier to review in detail.

Water-ready design and mounting

When fitted in the supplied waterproof case, the camera can be used at depths of up to 30 m. Underwater white balance helps adapt the image to underwater conditions. Other white balance settings are Auto, Daylight, Cloudy, Tungsten and Fluorescent; exposure compensation ranges from +2 EV to −2 EV. The camera measures 130 × 32 × 25.5 mm and weighs 132 g. Compatibility with a waterproof case, bike mount, handlebar mount and helmet mount allows it to be positioned for different activities.

Dual touchscreens, Wi-Fi and remote control

Two 1.3-inch touchscreens make it easier to frame shots and monitor the preview from either side of the camera. Wi-Fi supports 2.4 GHz (802.11b/g/n) and 5 GHz (802.11a/n/ac) connections, and the camera can be controlled through the app. It also supports YouTube live streaming, a dedicated SJCAM remote control and webcam mode.

Recording modes, battery and storage

Recording options include time-lapse, slow motion, car mode, loop recording, pre-recording, delayed recording, motion detection, portrait mode and simultaneous photo and video capture. Loop recording can be set to 3, 5 or 10 minutes. Photo modes include standard photos, interval shots, burst mode and time-lapse photography.

The 1000 + 2800 mAh lithium-ion battery system provides up to 460 minutes of recording in 4K at 30 fps when used with the mount and extra battery. Footage is stored on a microSD card with a capacity of up to 128 GB. The camera has a USB-C port, one built-in microphone and one speaker; it does not support an external microphone. Videos are saved as MP4 with H.264 encoding, and photos as JPG.
