SJCAM C300 Action Camera (White)

The SJCAM C300 action camera captures 4K footage during activities where using a smartphone is inconvenient or impractical, including cycling, motorcycling, skiing and underwater recording. It records video at up to 3840 × 2160 at 30 fps and takes photos at up to 20 MP. The 154° field of view captures expansive scenery and fast-moving action, while 6-axis gyroscopic stabilisation helps reduce camera shake. Other features include 8× digital zoom and water resistance to depths of 30 m when used in the supplied waterproof case. With the mount and an extra battery, the camera can record 4K at 30 fps for up to 460 minutes.

4K video, 20 MP photos and a wide field of view

The C300 records 4K video at 3840 × 2160 at 30 fps, 2K video at 2560 × 1440 at 60 or 30 fps, and Full HD video at 1920 × 1080 at up to 120 fps. It also supports 2.5K video at 2560 × 1920 at 30 fps, as well as vertical video at 1088 × 1920 at 30 fps and 720 × 1280 at 30 fps. Photo resolutions range from 2 MP to 20 MP. The f/2.0 lens has a 154° field of view, with distortion correction and 8× digital zoom.

Stabilisation and slow motion

Six-axis gyroscopic stabilisation helps reduce shake when recording on bumpy trails, during fast descents or while filming handheld. Slow-motion options include 2× in 2K at 60 fps, 4× in 1080p at 120 fps and 8× in 720p at 120 fps, making it possible to capture brief moments such as jumps and splashes in greater detail.

For water and active adventures

When placed in the supplied waterproof case, the camera can be used at depths of up to 30 m. An underwater white balance mode helps adjust the image for underwater conditions. Other white balance settings are Auto, Daylight, Cloudy, Tungsten and Fluorescent. Exposure compensation ranges from +2 EV to −2 EV. The camera measures 130 × 32 × 25.5 mm and weighs 132 g. Compatibility with a waterproof case, bike mount, handlebar mount and helmet mount lets you choose a setup suited to the activity and desired viewpoint.

Dual touchscreens, Wi-Fi and remote control

Two 1.3-inch touchscreens make it easier to frame shots and monitor the preview from either side of the camera. Wi-Fi supports 2.4 GHz (802.11b/g/n) and 5 GHz (802.11a/n/ac) connections, and the camera can be controlled through the app. It also supports YouTube live streaming, a dedicated SJCAM remote control and webcam mode.

Recording modes and battery life

Video modes include normal recording, time-lapse, slow motion, car mode, loop recording, pre-recording, delayed recording, motion detection, portrait mode and simultaneous photo and video recording. Loop recording can be set to 3-, 5- or 10-minute intervals. Photo modes include standard photos, interval photos, burst mode and time-lapse photography. The lithium-ion battery system has a capacity of 1000 + 2800 mAh, a voltage of 3.7 V and energy ratings of 3.7 Wh + 10.36 Wh. With the mount and an extra battery, runtime is up to 460 minutes when recording 4K at 30 fps.

Footage is saved in MP4 format with H.264 encoding, and photos are saved as JPG files. The camera has one built-in microphone, one speaker, a USB-C port and a microSD card slot supporting cards up to 128 GB. An external microphone is not supported.
