The Metabones Nikon G to Sony E Speed Booster ULTRA 0.71x (MB_SPNFG-E-BM2) features an advanced 5-element/4-group optical design incorporating ultra-high index tantalum-based optical glass. This design achieves extraordinary optical performance with improved corner sharpness, reduced distortion, and minimized vignetting.
With a magnification factor of 0.71x, it effectively reduces the crop factor of mirrorless cameras with DX-sized sensors (such as Sony E-mount and Fuji X-mount) from 1.5x to approximately 1.07x. The ULTRA design uses exotic materials at the forefront of glassmaking technology, allowing excellent correction for virtually all full-frame SLR lenses regardless of exit pupil distance.
Lens Compatibility and Performance Enhancement
- Compatible with both Nikkor G lenses and F lenses, including non-AI and AI mounts.
- Transforms professional-grade f/2.8 zoom lenses (e.g., 24-70mm f/2.8 and 70-200mm f/2.8 by Canon and Nikon) into high-speed zooms with apertures around f/2.0 and focal lengths of 17-50mm and 50-142mm respectively.
- Converts high-speed prime lenses such as a 50mm f/1.2 into a 35.5mm f/0.9 lens, delivering excellent contrast and resolution from center to edges.

Compatibility Notes
- Not fully compatible with full-frame Sony A7, A7R, and A7S cameras. When used with these models, the camera must be set to "APS-C Size Capture" mode.
- Incompatible lenses include Nikkor 2.1cm f/4 and 20mm f/2.8 AI-S lenses.
Usage Tips and Additional Information
- Before mounting your lens to the adapter, ensure the aperture ring on the adapter is set to "7" (fully closed aperture) to avoid mounting issues.
- This mount provides manual aperture control only and does not support electronic aperture control.
