The Canon Mount Adapter EF-EOS R 0.71x is an EF to RF mount lens adapter designed to maintain the original angle of view of full-frame EF lenses when used on the EOS C70 camera. It also increases light transmission, providing a one-stop brighter image for improved low-light performance.
Maintain Full Frame Angle of View
This adapter adjusts the focal length by a factor of 0.71x, adapting full-frame lenses to the Super 35mm sensor format of the EOS C70. This ensures the same angle of view as on a full-frame sensor, preserving the intended composition and framing.
One Stop Brighter Image
By reducing the effective focal length, the adapter increases light transmission, effectively increasing the lens's f-stop value by one stop. For example, an f/2.8 lens becomes approximately f/2.0, enabling better low-light shooting and reducing signal noise.
Superior Communication Between Lens and Camera Body
- Full electronic communication is maintained between EF lenses and the EOS C70 body.
- Supports Dual Pixel CMOS AF for fast and accurate autofocus.
- Enables peripheral illumination and chromatic aberration correction.

At launch, lenses such as the EF 24-70mm f/2.8, EF 24-105mm f/4, and EF 16-35mm f/2.8 support full electronic communication and optimal performance. Additional lens models will be supported in the future.
