The Speed Booster ULTRA features an advanced 5-element/4-group optical design incorporating ultra-high index tantalum-based optical glass developed by Caldwell Photographic in the USA. This design significantly improves corner sharpness, reduces distortion, and minimizes vignetting, delivering extraordinary optical performance.

- Enhances Modulation Transfer Function (MTF) for better resolution and contrast.
- Widens the lens field of view by a factor of 0.71x, effectively reducing the crop factor of APS-C sensors.
Compatibility and Usage
This adapter allows the use of Sony/Minolta A-mount full-frame lenses on Sony E-mount APS-C mirrorless cameras. It effectively reduces the crop factor from 1.5x to approximately 1.07x, enabling lenses to perform closer to their full-frame characteristics.
The Speed Booster ULTRA is well corrected for use with professional-grade f/2.8 zoom lenses such as Canon and Nikon 24-70mm f/2.8 and 70-200mm f/2.8, transforming them into faster, wider lenses (e.g., 17-50mm f/2.0 and 50-142mm f/2.0 equivalents). High-speed prime lenses like a 50mm f/1.2 become approximately 35.5mm f/0.9 with excellent contrast and resolution across the frame.
