• Enhanced Light Transmission Coatings
  Pentax binoculars elevate optical quality to a new level with a new optimized film coating technology applied to the lens and prism surfaces, increasing light transmission and producing bright images with accurate color reproduction.
• Protective Lens Coating
  All optical surfaces are sensitive and should be handled carefully to prevent scratches. To enhance the durability of the Z waterproof binoculars, Pentax has added a protective nano-technology coating that helps guard against water, oil, dust, and dirt, allowing them to withstand the harshest viewing conditions.
• BaK4 Prisms
  Thanks to its excellent refractive index, the BaK4 glass prism found in all Pentax Z binoculars is highly valued for its ideally round exit pupil and clear, undistorted image.
• Phase Correction
  The complex roof prism binocular optical design ensures a sturdy, compact, and lightweight construction while requiring a higher level of optical perfection. All roof prism binoculars are coated with a phase correction coating to maximize image viewing quality.
• PENTAX Waterproofing
  PENTAX waterproof products are fully sealed and purged with laboratory-grade nitrogen to prevent fogging in the harshest weather conditions. PENTAX waterproof binoculars meet JIS Class 6 standards, allowing them to be submerged up to 3 feet deep.
• Unique Hydrophobic Coating
  Water droplets on the lens negatively affect light entry. By using a unique water-repellent coating on all external lenses, water droplets are transformed into small, deformed droplets. These deformed droplets create less distortion and slide off the lens more easily, keeping your binoculars fully functional even in rain, snow, fog, or condensation.

  The prism dielectric coating enhances image color. Multiple surface correction coating layers are "evaporated" onto the prism surface in a vacuum, maximizing the quality of visible light in the color spectrum between infrared and ultraviolet radiation as it passes through the glass.
• Nitrogen Purged
  Nitrogen is an inert element, a colorless gas with no odor or taste. It contains very little moisture, making it ideal for "purging" binoculars and telescopes from high humidity in our environment. Due to its low moisture coefficient, nitrogen prevents condensation on the internal lenses of optical instruments during rapid temperature changes. Additionally, since nitrogen is injected into the optical instrument at a pressure slightly above atmospheric pressure, dust and other fine particles are kept out of the housing.
