Compatibility and Design
The SmallRig 2209 Cage is specifically designed for the Atomos Ninja V 5" 4K HDMI Recording Monitor. Co-designed with Atomos, it provides a protective exoskeleton that enhances the durability and functionality of the monitor.
Mounting and Attachment Points
- The cage attaches securely to the monitor using a 1/4''-20 screw on the top and two M3 screws on the left side.
- It features multiple mounting holes including 1/4''-20, 3/8''-16 threaded holes, and an ARRI locating mount point on the base for versatile accessory attachment.
- NATO rails are integrated along both the top and bottom edges, allowing compatibility with various SmallRig mounts such as the Ball Head Magic Arm 2071 or 2072 for quick release setups.
- Raised attachment points on the top and bottom accommodate neck straps and the Atomos Ninja V Sunhood frame.
HDMI Cable Management and Drive Compatibility
- The cage includes a dedicated HDMI cable clamp compatible with a range of cables, optimized for AtomFlex 4K 60p cables to secure the HDMI connection.
- It supports the addition of a second SmallRig HDMI Cable Clamp 1693 on the left side to protect the HDMI cable and port further.
- Drive locks are incorporated to maintain compatibility with the Atomos Master Caddy II, accommodating the size of standard 2.5" drives within the cage's form factor.

Additional Notes
- The cage is compatible with the original Atomos Ninja V Sunhood. The sunhood frame should be installed before fitting the cage and can remain in place, providing extra protection. The folding sunhoods can be removed easily if needed.
- SmallRig Sun Hood 2269 is available separately for those who require a sun hood.
