Custom Design and Modular Construction
The Tilta Full Camera Cage is specifically engineered for the Sony FX5 cinema camera body, providing a secure and stable connection with three points of contact to prevent twisting. This cage can be converted into a lightweight half cage by removing two bottom screws and the handle-side bracket, allowing users to switch between a full or compact setup depending on shooting requirements.
Accessory Mounting Options
- Multiple 1/4"-20 and 3/8"-16 threaded holes at various locations for versatile accessory attachment
- Cold shoe receiver for mounting compatible accessories
- NATO Rail on the top plate for attaching top handles and other gear
- Mounting points for a Single Rod Holder
Top Plate Features
The standalone top plate includes a NATO Rail with additional threaded holes, including a 3/8"-to-1/4" adapter thread, enabling flexible accessory mounting in multiple directions while maintaining compatibility with the camera's original XLR handle.
Bottom Plate and Mounting Enhancements
- Bi-directional ARCA bottom plate slides in from either side for quick transitions between tripods and gimbals
- Dedicated DJI gimbal center-positioning point on the bottom reduces balancing time
- Separate center-positioning point for baseplates assists in building a well-balanced rig
Protection and Cable Management
- Reinforced corners protect the cage and camera from accidental bumps and damage during active filming
- Locking HDMI cable clamp secures cables to maintain signal integrity and prevent disconnections
Ergonomics and Accessibility
- All camera buttons, dials, and screen functions remain fully accessible with specially designed clearances
- Seamless integration with the Nucleus Autofocus Adapter allows use without interference
- The camera grip is reshaped and combined with the cage’s grip to follow the natural curve of the palm, including a dedicated pinky rest for enhanced comfort and ergonomics
