Universal 8-Channel Charger

The Newell Smart C8 is a versatile charger compatible with most commercially available cylindrical batteries. It features an LCD display that shows voltage, current, charging time, internal resistance, and the charge status of each cell, enabling easy monitoring of charging parameters and progress. The specially designed housing accommodates even the largest batteries (type C or 22650) simultaneously across all eight channels.

Automatic and Manual Current Selection

The charger automatically sets the optimal charging current based on battery characteristics. Users can also manually select the charging current between 100 mA and 1,500 mA for lithium-ion batteries, and between 100 mA and 1,000 mA for Ni-MH and Ni-Cd batteries.

Battery Type Recognition

The Newell Smart C8 automatically detects Li-ion 4.2 V and NiMH/NiCd 1.48 V battery types. For LiFePO4 and Li-ion 4.35 V batteries, manual selection of battery type is required.

Internal Resistance and Capacity Measurement

Before charging, the device measures the internal resistance and estimates the cell capacity, displaying both values on the LCD. After charging, the estimated battery capacity is also shown.

Safety and Protection Features

Repair of Over-Discharged Lithium-Ion Batteries

The Smart C8 can attempt to reactivate lithium-ion cells that are over-discharged or at 0 volts, a feature not common in most chargers. However, cells discharged below a certain threshold may be irreparable.
