It includes a multifunction handgrip with controls for recording, ISO, white balance, and shutter angle conveniently at your fingertips. The camera is designed to reduce thermal noise for cleaner shadows and higher ISO performance.
Sensor and Lens Compatibility
Equipped with a Super 35 HDR sensor measuring 6144 x 3456 pixels, the camera offers 13 stops of dynamic range and dual native ISO up to 25,600. It supports Canon EF lenses, allowing the use of larger photographic lenses to achieve cinematic images with shallow depth of field and beautiful bokeh effects.
Display and User Interface
The camera features a large, bright 5-inch tilting touchscreen LCD for easy framing and accurate focusing at 4K and 6K resolutions. On-screen overlays provide status, recording parameters, histogram, focus peaking, levels, and frame guides. The adjustable screen enhances monitoring from various shooting positions.
Color Science and Image Quality
Incorporating Blackmagic Generation 5 Color Science, the Pocket Cinema Camera 6K G2 delivers accurate skin tones and faithful color reproduction. It uses a dynamic 12-bit gamma curve to capture more color data in highlights and shadows, preserving color and dynamic range metadata for post-production workflows.
Optional Accessories
The camera supports an optional Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera Pro EVF featuring a 1280 x 960 color OLED display with proximity sensor, 4-element glass diopter with -4 to +4 focus adjustment, and a digital focus chart for precise setup. The EVF connects via a single connector and offers a 70-degree swivel range with multiple eyecup options for both eyes.
Power and Battery
It uses larger NP-F570 batteries for extended shooting times and includes a locking DC power connector to prevent power loss during shoots. The included AC power adapter can power the camera and charge the battery simultaneously. The USB-C expansion port supports trickle charging from portable battery packs or laptops. An optional battery grip allows adding extra batteries for all-day shooting.
