The Canon EOS C50 features a full-frame CMOS sensor capable of stunning 7K recording with a resolution of 6960 x 4640 pixels in Open Gate 12-bit RAW format. It offers dual base ISO settings of 800 and 6400, delivering a dynamic range exceeding 15 stops. The camera also supports 32 MP still photo capture at up to 40 frames per second and ISO sensitivity up to 64,000. Additionally, it records 4K video with oversampling to produce rich, natural colors.
Open Gate Flexibility
Open Gate mode allows maximum creative flexibility by capturing full sensor data in a 3:2 aspect ratio. Users can shoot in widescreen, portrait, or anamorphic formats. The camera supports easy switching between full-frame, Super 35 mm, and Super 16 mm sensor modes to suit various production needs.
RF Mount Compatibility
The EOS C50 utilizes Canon's RF mount, providing compatibility with a wide range of lenses including fixed focal length, zoom, hybrid, and cinema lenses. The RF mount supports real-time metadata transfer and fast autofocus/image stabilization. Additionally, PL and EF lenses can be used via Canon mount adapters.
Advanced Autofocus System
Equipped with Dual Pixel CMOS AF II, the camera offers highly responsive autofocus with improved face, eye, and animal detection and tracking across 100% of the sensor area. Dual card slots accept CFexpress Type B and UHS-II SD cards, enabling proxy and multi-format recording for efficient workflows.

Compact and Ergonomic Design
The EOS C50 is Canon's lightest and most compact Cinema EOS camera to date. It features a removable handle with XLR connectors, a 3-inch rotating and swiveling touchscreen, active cooling system, 14 configurable buttons, zoom rockers, tally lamp, and multiple accessory mounts. This design is ideal for handheld shooting, gimbal use, or drone mounting.
Multi-Camera and Live Production Support
Remote control is enabled via hardware controllers like the RC-IP1000 or the Multi-Camera Control app using the Canon XC protocol. This facilitates synchronized timecode and real-time adjustment of settings and shading across multiple Cinema EOS, PTZ, and XF cameras in studio environments.
Future-Ready for VFX, Virtual Production, and VR
The EOS C50 provides real-time lens metadata compatible with virtual production workflows and VFX software such as Unreal Engine and Adobe After Effects. When paired with the Canon RF 5.2mm Dual Fisheye lens, it can capture stereoscopic 180° VR images for immersive virtual reality content creation.
