This 110-degree Field Of View wide-angle 15mm T2.6 cine lens is designed for various mounts including Canon EF, Sony E mount, MFT, Canon RF, Nikon Z, L Mount, and PL Mount, making it suitable for Large Format sensors. It easily covers the sensor of an EOS R5, as well as a RED Monstro or a Sony Venice. Additionally, it can be used on MFT or Super 35 sensors with a x2 or x1.6 crop.
Construction and Design
The lens housing is specifically crafted for video use, featuring an all-weather seal and a fixed rear lens element to prevent dust ingress. The minimum focus distance is 28cm, measured from the sensor.
Markings and Usability
All markings are positioned on the side of the lens, catering to filmmakers who often work in teams. This design allows Operators or 1st ACs to easily read values and settings while positioned next to the camera.
Diaphragm and Focus Features
The diaphragm ring has a stroke of 75 degrees and consists of 9 blades, while the focus ring features a 180-degree throw and is equipped with industry-standard .8 pitch gears for follow focus systems. The Adaptive ring, located next to the focus ring, can be rotated to provide additional space for follow focus, particularly beneficial for electronic systems.
Filter and Mattebox Compatibility
The lens includes a standard 95mm mount for a Mattebox and an 86mm thread for front filters. This design is advantageous for maintaining a compact setup without the need for a Mattebox, allowing the use of round screw-in filters.
Light Intensity
The light intensity of T2.6 indicates the transmission level, representing the actual amount of light reaching the sensor, while the F-stop refers to the diaphragm opening.
