The DZOFilm Arles 25mm T1.4 prime cine lens features 14 optical elements arranged in 12 groups, including two aspherical elements (one large-diameter 50mm aspherical) to enhance image quality and reduce aberrations such as spherical aberration, coma, astigmatism, and wide-angle distortion. Low-dispersion glass elements minimize chromatic aberration, while floating lens elements maintain sharpness and reduce breathing during focusing from infinity to close distances.
The lens has a close focus distance of 0.35 m and a flange focal distance of 52 mm (PL mount). The iris is manually controlled with a 77° rotation angle, and the focus ring offers a smooth 270° rotation for precise manual focusing.
Build and Compatibility
Constructed from durable aluminum alloy, the lens body measures 121 mm from front to flange and weighs approximately 1490 g. It features a uniform 95 mm front diameter and 86 mm filter thread, compatible with industry-standard cine accessories. The lens supports interchangeable mounts (PL standard, EF optional) for broad camera compatibility.
The lens design includes advanced multi-layer nano-coatings with a specialized blue tint to reduce reflections, stray light, and ghosting, ensuring clean, sharp images even in challenging lighting conditions. The 16-blade iris produces smooth, natural bokeh, enhancing cinematic image quality.
