This filter reduces reflections and glare by filtering out light polarized due to reflection from non-metallic surfaces. Sunlight naturally becomes partially polarized when reflecting off electrons in air molecules, causing scattered light that appears as haze. The polarizing filter arranges and filters this directionally polarized light perpendicular to the reflected light, absorbing much of it.
