Continuous Camera Power

The SmallRig 6542 USB-C Dummy Battery Power Cable for Sony NP-FW50 supplies stable, continuous power to a compatible camera when connected to a USB-C PD charger, power bank or USB-C output port on a V-mount battery. It reduces the need for frequent battery changes and supports uninterrupted recording and a smoother workflow. It is suitable for long video recordings, livestreaming, time-lapse photography and other extended shooting scenarios.

The cable supports PD 9.0 V and 12.0 V input and is compatible with widely used PD fast-charging protocols. Power it from a PD charger, car charger or power bank for flexible use indoors or outdoors. Installation is straightforward and requires no tools or complicated setup.

Design and Protection

An upgraded chip helps ensure reliable camera compatibility without warning messages while preserving the camera’s original functions and menu operation. The dummy battery is moulded to the dimensions of the original battery for smooth installation and removal, and does not interfere with normal battery-compartment door operation.

Built-in protections include overvoltage, overheating, overcharge and short-circuit protection. The housing is made from flame-retardant ABS for reliable long-term use.
