Zoom Control Features

The Varizoom VZRL100 is an economical LANC zoom lens control unit designed for precise and smooth zoom operation. It features a wide-sweep zoom rocker that allows operators to remotely control zoom speed with high accuracy, ideal for capturing high-quality footage. The unit also includes a record button and an LED indicator that glows when recording and flashes to indicate low battery status.

Compatibility

This controller is compatible with camcorders equipped with a LANC-capable 2.5mm remote port, including many models from Sony, Canon, JVC, Black Magic (with powered zoom lens), and Panasonic models such as AG-CX10, HC-X2000, HC-X1500, AG-CX350, and AU-EVA1. It also supports many Sony cameras through the "Multi" port when used with the VZAV/LANC adapter and Sony VMC-AVM1 adapter, though functionality may vary depending on the camera model and lens.

Design and Usage

The VZRL100 mounts easily on most tripod handles, shoulder rigs, jibs, or camera towers, providing remote zoom control when the camera is out of reach. It can be extended with optional cables of 3, 6, 15, or 30 meters (10, 20, 50, or 100 feet) for greater flexibility. The unit benefits from over 20 years of Varizoom's experience in zoom control technology, offering the same basic electronic structure as higher-end models but at a more affordable price.
