The TRUTHEAR Zero Blue 2 is designed for listeners seeking dynamic, detailed sound and a well-controlled frequency response across the audio range. It combines two dynamic drivers, measuring 10 mm and 7.8 mm, with an advanced crossover system and a microphone. Drawing on experience with earlier models in the Zero series, TRUTHEAR redesigned the acoustic chambers, nozzle and driver components to improve efficiency, reduce distortion and reproduce recordings more naturally. The headphones have housings manufactured by HeyGears using 3D-DLP printing and a detachable cable made from copper and silver-plated copper. They are suitable for everyday music listening as well as audio monitoring, phone calls and gaming.
Two Dynamic Drivers
A redesigned 7.8 mm dynamic driver with an internal magnetic circuit reproduces midrange and high frequencies. It uses a flexible polyurethane suspension and an LCP (liquid crystal polymer) dome diaphragm. Compared with the previous model, the magnet diameter has increased by approximately 25% and the dome surface area by about 50%. The high-frequency conductive structure has also been revised. These changes improve driver efficiency and sensitivity at the top of the frequency range, supporting smooth, transparent high-frequency reproduction, extended frequency response and high resolution.
Stronger Bass Foundation
A modified 10 mm dynamic driver handles low frequencies. It features a finely tuned solid-silicone suspension, an LCP dome diaphragm and a thin-wire voice coil. The redesigned bass tuning system works with a low-distortion crossover network, using a solution similar to that of the Zero Red series. Compared with the original Zero, this design achieves lower nonlinear distortion and gives the bass greater depth and a clearer, more energetic character.
Precise Frequency Division
The acoustic chambers and crossover system were redesigned using experience gained from earlier TRUTHEAR dual-dynamic-driver headphones. The aim is to improve the efficiency of both drivers while keeping each within its selected frequency range, significantly improving the sensitivity of the complete system. A filtered nozzle, precision-manufactured by HeyGears using 3D-DLP technology, works with a hybrid, multi-stage crossover system to help the headphones more closely match their design specifications.
Clarity and Detail
The Zero Blue 2 was developed to increase overall efficiency while maintaining excellent linear and nonlinear distortion performance. In selected frequency ranges, nonlinear distortion is lower than in the Zero Red series, helping preserve a clean background and reproduce fine details clearly. The frequency response is tuned for a broad range of listening preferences, with an optimised response in the lowest bass below 50 Hz and a smoother transition through the midrange. High frequencies are matched to the HRTF amplitude response, maintaining high sensitivity above 10,000 Hz.
Vivid, Coherent Sound
Compared with the first Zero model, the Zero Blue 2 incorporates changes that affect both measured performance and the listening experience. It delivers a more dynamic and lively sound than the Zero Red, while the high efficiency of the high-frequency driver helps reveal subtle elements in recordings and mixes. The headphones also have a consistent phase response across the frequency range. Minimising phase distortion helps maintain a natural sound, and the increased number of internal conductors is intended to improve sound quality.
3D-Printed Housings
HeyGears manufactures the housings using precise 3D-DLP printing. The Zero Blue 2 retains design references to the original Zero but has a redesigned outer panel. The optimised printing resin allows material thickness to be reduced locally inside the chamber without compromising structural integrity. The nozzle size and support angles have also been adjusted, with comfort during extended use in mind. The skin-friendly housings are designed for long listening sessions.
Detachable Cable and Microphone
The Zero Blue 2 uses a detachable cable with 0.78 mm 2-pin connectors, allowing the cable to be replaced. The set includes an improved two-conductor coaxial cable made from high-quality copper and silver-plated copper. Its increased number of internal conductors is designed to enhance transmission performance, while the cable construction helps reduce tangling during everyday use. The model includes a microphone cable with a 3.5 mm plug and 0.78 mm 2-pin connectors, made from high-quality oxygen-free copper, as used in the TRUTHEAR Gate model.
