The LONGER RAY5 mini is a pre-assembled diode laser engraver for personalising small items, decorations and DIY prototypes. Its 130 × 140 mm working area accommodates items such as key rings, plaques and decorative elements. With engraving speeds of up to 12,000 mm/min and a 0.04 mm laser spot, it can produce detailed designs in a compact workspace.

Fine engraving detail

The 0.04 × 0.04 mm laser spot helps keep fine patterns on wood, leather and metal clear and legible. Concentrating the laser energy in a small area supports engraving thin lines, small lettering and delicate ornaments. This precision is useful for personalised gifts, DIY jewellery, prototypes and decorative designs, including detailed contours and typography.

Efficient engraving

The maximum head speed is 12,000 mm/min. As examples, a motif measuring approximately 30 × 10 mm takes about 3 minutes, while a 100 × 100 mm pattern takes about 25 minutes. This can help speed up repeat work, such as engraving a plate with graphics or producing a series of identical items. The laser module has a rated lifespan of more than 10,000 hours.

Materials and applications

The 130 × 140 mm working area and compatibility with more than 300 materials support projects on wood, acrylic, leather, metal, fabric and ceramics, among other surfaces. The 5.5 W FAC diode laser can also cut materials up to 12 mm thick, depending on their type and density. Applications include decorations, markings, prototype components and personalised accessories.

Setup and software

The engraver is pre-assembled and ready to use after connection. A 2 mm focusing block helps set the distance between the laser and the material. The device supports LaserGRBL and LightBurn software and accepts JPG, PNG, BMP and DXF files, making it possible to import designs from graphics and CAD applications.

Connectivity and control

USB and Wi-Fi connectivity, together with the LaserBurn mobile app, allow control from a computer or smartphone. Supported operating systems are Windows, macOS, Linux, Android and iOS. After a file has been uploaded, engraving can continue offline without a constant computer connection.

Safety features

Built-in X- and Y-axis limit switches help keep the laser head within its working range. A physical Emergency Stop button allows the machine to be stopped directly. An acrylic protective screen and a cover on the laser module help reduce light exposure. Safety glasses are included. The product is listed as compliant with CE, FCC, FDA and RoHS requirements.

Compact construction

Measuring 286 × 292 × 165 mm and weighing 1.47 kg, the engraver fits on a desk, shelf or mobile workbench and can be moved between work areas. Its frame is made of aluminium alloy. The device is powered by a compact external 12 V adapter.
