High-Resolution Versatility
The Canon EOS R5 is designed for professional photographers and videographers requiring high resolution, speed, and advanced video capabilities. It features a newly developed 45MP full-frame CMOS sensor enabling 8K raw video recording and 12 fps continuous shooting with a mechanical shutter. It is the first EOS camera to incorporate 5-axis sensor-shift image stabilization for superior handheld shooting performance.
45MP Sensor and DIGIC X Processor
The 45MP full-frame sensor delivers high-resolution stills and video, supported by the DIGIC X processor for fast performance. ISO sensitivity ranges from 100 to 51200, expandable to 102400, allowing flexibility in various lighting conditions. Continuous shooting is possible at up to 12 fps mechanically or 20 fps silently with the electronic shutter, ideal for capturing fast-moving subjects.
Advanced Video Capabilities
The sensor supports internal DCI 8K 30 fps raw video recording and 4K video up to 120 fps in 422 10-bit with Canon Log. HDR-PQ recording is available in-camera, and external recording via HDMI supports clean 4K output up to 60 fps. Both All-I and IPB compression options are supported, with Dual Pixel CMOS AF available up to 8K raw video.
8K Raw HDMI Output
Firmware update 1.4.0 enables 8K30 10-bit video output for ProRes raw recording to the Atomos Ninja V+ recorder via HDMI (note: the recorder may become hot during use).
Dual Pixel CMOS AF II
This autofocus system offers 1053 selectable points covering nearly 100% of the frame, providing smooth, fast, and precise focusing. It uses two photodiodes per pixel for dense phase-detection autofocus, reducing focus hunting and improving focus placement accuracy.
Sensor-Shift 5-Axis Image Stabilization
The EOS R5 features five-axis sensor-shift image stabilization compensating up to eight stops of camera shake. This system works in conjunction with lens-based optical stabilization for both native RF and adapted EF lenses, enabling sharp handheld shooting at slower shutter speeds.

With firmware 1.8.1 or later, the EOS R5 can create approximately 400MP high-resolution images in-camera using IBIS High Resolution mode, ideal for applications requiring extreme detail such as art reproduction and signage.
RF 24-105mm f/4 L IS USM Lens Features
This versatile zoom lens covers wide-angle to short telephoto focal lengths with a constant f/4 aperture. It includes a five-stop optical image stabilizer to reduce camera shake, a customizable control ring for exposure adjustments, and a Nano USM autofocus motor for fast, quiet, and smooth focusing suitable for both stills and video. The lens features Super Spectra Coating to minimize flare and ghosting, a weather-resistant L-series construction, and a rounded nine-blade diaphragm for pleasing bokeh.
