Compact full-frame hybrid camera

The Nikon Z5 IIC combines the core imaging hardware of the Z5 II with a compact, flat-top body that omits the electronic viewfinder (EVF) and uses a single SD card slot. It is designed for creators who prefer composing on the rear LCD and want a full-frame camera for everyday photography, travel, family events and video.

Image quality and performance

• 24.5 MP FX-format back-illuminated CMOS sensor paired with the EXPEED 7 image processor.
• Native ISO sensitivity from 100 to 64,000, expandable to ISO 50–204,800 for challenging lighting conditions.
• Full-resolution continuous shooting at up to 30 frames per second.
• Pre-Release Capture records a burst of up to 30 frames per second for up to one second before the shutter is fully released. Burst capture begins when the shutter button is half-pressed; the buffer retains the frames when the button is fully pressed.

Autofocus and stabilisation

Intelligent subject detection recognises ten subject types, including people, animals, birds and vehicles, as well as aquatic life. In Auto-Area AF, the camera can detect, focus on and track recognised subjects as they move through the frame.

Five-axis, sensor-shift Vibration Reduction compensates for camera shake by up to five stops for handheld photography, including long exposures and slow-shutter action. With compatible lenses, stabilisation can reach up to 7.5 stops. Electronic VR is also available for steadier handheld video.

Video recording

• Records UHD 4K video at up to 60 frames per second and Full HD video at up to 120 frames per second, with recording times of up to two hours.
• Supports 12-bit N-RAW recording at resolutions up to 4032 × 2268 and 10-bit H.265 recording in N-Log, with free RED LUTs available for colour grading.
• Includes a video self-timer, electronic VR and in-camera time-lapse recording, with the option to create a finished UHD 4K time-lapse file in camera.
• Movie files can be saved to the camera’s SD card or sent to an optional external recorder via HDMI. Product Review mode and UAC/UAV compliance support live streaming without additional software.

Colour controls and display

A dedicated Picture Control button provides access to 31 built-in presets, including in Auto mode. Presets can be previewed on the rear LCD, and Creator Recipes can be downloaded through Nikon Imaging Cloud and added alongside the existing presets.

• Bright 3.2-inch, 2.1-million-dot vari-angle touchscreen for live view, playback, focus-point selection and camera control from a range of angles.
• Warm Display Colors mode changes the information display from white to red to reduce brightness and help preserve night vision.
• Starlight View improves screen visibility in near-darkness, including for astrophotography.
• A front-facing recording light indicates when video recording is in progress.

Connectivity and body features

• The EVF-free, flat-top design reduces the camera’s profile for everyday carrying and LCD-based composition.
• Built-in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth Low Energy, with SnapBridge support for image transfer and remote shooting. A connected smart device can trigger the shutter and display the camera’s live view.
• USB-C supports camera charging and USB Power Delivery. A micro-HDMI port supports external recording and live view.
• The headphone jack also serves as a connection for the optional Nikon MC-DC3 Remote Release Cord.
• Uses one SD UHS-II card slot.
