The Venus Optics Laowa 9mm f/5.6 FF RL is the widest rectilinear lens designed for full-frame mirrorless cameras with the Sony E bayonet. It offers an ultra-wide 135° angle of view with minimal distortion, enabling unique photographic perspectives in a compact and lightweight 350 g body.
Advanced Optical Design
- 14 optical elements arranged in 10 groups
- Includes two aspherical lenses and two extra-low dispersion glass elements to reduce chromatic aberration and distortion
- One high refractive index glass element
- Five-blade aperture diaphragm, adjustable from f/5.6 to f/22
Close Focusing Capability
The lens allows focusing as close as 12 cm, enabling unconventional macro photography and multi-plane compositions with a unique perspective.
Starburst Effect
Closing the aperture produces aesthetically pleasing and well-defined 10-point star effects around bright light sources such as the sun, street lamps, or Christmas lights.
Applications
Ideal for interior, architectural, and landscape photography, the lens exaggerates the relative size of foreground objects, creating an impression of vast space.
Filter Compatibility
Due to the convex front element and built-in tulip-shaped lens hood, front-mounted filters require a special magnetic adapter (not included) designed for standard 100 mm wide rectangular filters.
