The NiSi 15mm F4 lens for Fuji X-Mount offers an impressive 112° field of view, wider than the typical angle for a standard 15mm focal length, effectively equivalent to 14.5mm. Its optical construction includes 12 elements arranged in 10 groups, featuring one double-sided aspherical element and two extra-low dispersion elements. This design minimizes chromatic aberration, distortion, and vignetting, ensuring high-quality image output.
Anti-reflection film technology is applied to enhance light transmittance and reduce lens flare and stray light, improving overall image clarity.
Build and Handling
The lens body is constructed entirely from metal, providing durability and reliability even in harsh shooting environments. The focus ring incorporates a ball bearing mechanism for smooth, comfortable, and precise manual focusing.
Both the front and rear lens surfaces are coated with matte paint to prevent glare and reflections.
Filter Compatibility
The front of the lens features a 72 mm thread, compatible with standard 72 mm circular filters. It also supports NiSi's popular 100 mm filter holder systems, allowing photographers to easily experiment with various filters during shooting.
Aperture and Creative Effects
The lens has 10 straight aperture blades, enabling it to produce starburst effects from f/4 through f/22. Thanks to the optical design, these starbursts are free from glare, breaking the usual requirement of using a small aperture to achieve this effect.
Close Focusing Capability
With a minimum focusing distance of 0.2 meters, this lens allows for striking close-up foreground compositions, enhancing visual impact in images.
