Optical and Mechanical Design

The Viltrox AF 33mm F1.4 Mk II XF is a short telephoto prime lens ideal for portrait photography and low-light shooting. It features a bright f/1.4 maximum aperture that allows excellent performance in dim conditions and provides greater control over depth of field with smooth bokeh effects.

The lens construction includes 9 elements in 10 groups, incorporating two aspherical elements to reduce distortion and off-axis aberrations, and four extra-low dispersion (ED) elements to minimize chromatic aberrations and color fringing. This results in high resolution and color accuracy across the frame.

A 9-blade diaphragm contributes to pleasing bokeh quality. The lens uses a fast and quiet STM stepping autofocus motor for responsive and smooth focusing, suitable for both stills and video. The minimum focusing distance is approximately 0.22 meters.
