The SIGMA 24-70mm F2.8 DG DN II Art is SIGMA's flagship lens, significantly improved from its predecessor by incorporating advanced technologies from design to production. Compared to the previous model, it offers enhanced resolving power throughout the zoom range, an aperture ring, and high-speed AF with a redesigned HLA (High-response Linear Actuator) motor. This lens is approximately 7% smaller and 10% lighter, making it a versatile tool for photographers and filmmakers.
Optical Performance
The SIGMA 24-70mm F2.8 DG DN II Art boasts high optical performance across the entire image and zoom range. Its optical design includes 6 FLD glass elements, 2 SLD glass elements, and 5 aspherical lens elements, effectively suppressing various aberrations. Sagittal coma flare is well controlled, achieving high resolution to the image periphery, while lateral chromatic aberration is corrected for beautifully rendered images free from color fringing.
Close-up Capability
With a minimum focusing distance of 17cm at the wide end and a maximum magnification ratio of 12.7, the lens excels in close-up photography, making it ideal for tight spaces.
Flare and Ghosting Control
Advanced simulation technology has largely eliminated flare and ghosting, ensuring rich, high-contrast results. Nano Porous Coating and Super Multi-layer Coating further suppress these issues, providing high backlight resistance for clear images in various lighting conditions.
