The lens incorporates an Optical Image Stabilizer providing up to 5 stops of shake correction, extendable to 7.5 stops when combined with an EOS R-series camera body equipped with In-Body Image Stabilization (IBIS). Autofocus is driven by a Dual Nano USM system combining ring-type USM and STM mechanisms for fast, precise, and nearly silent focusing, suitable for both stills and video. Full-time manual focus override is available in one-shot AF mode.
