It features a bright maximum aperture of f/2.8 at the wide end, enabling excellent low-light performance and depth-of-field control. The lens incorporates a sophisticated optical construction of 15 elements in 13 groups, including three Special Low Dispersion (SLD) and three aspherical elements to maintain edge-to-edge sharpness and suppress optical aberrations. This design also minimizes focus breathing, making it suitable for both stills and video capture.
Close focusing capabilities include a minimum focus distance of 20 cm at 20mm and 25 cm at 60mm, with a macro reproduction ratio of 1:2.3 and 0.43x magnification, allowing for near half-macro close-up photography.
