Portable telephoto zoom
The Sigma 50-120mm f/2.8 DC OS Contemporary is a versatile, travel-friendly telephoto zoom lens for APS-C cameras. Its constant f/2.8 maximum aperture, high-speed autofocus, optical stabilisation and specialised optical elements are combined in a compact lens for photographing subjects at a range of distances.
Responsive autofocus
The High-Response Linear Actuator autofocus system shifts focus quickly and accurately, supporting subject tracking and rapid changes in focus. Suppressed focus breathing also makes the lens suitable for video production.
Optical stabilisation
The optical image stabilisation system compensates for up to 6.5 stops of camera shake at the wide end and 4.5 stops at the telephoto end. Powered by Sigma’s OS2 algorithm, it supports handheld shooting, including in low light and at longer focal lengths.
Optical performance and bokeh
One FLD, three SLD and four aspherical elements help produce sharp images with accurate colour and minimal distortion throughout the zoom range, including at f/2.8. The rounded 11-blade diaphragm creates smooth bokeh and gradual focus fall-off.
Weather-resistant construction
The dust- and splash-resistant construction helps protect the lens in challenging weather. A water- and oil-repellent coating on the front element makes it easier to clean.
