It accelerates the colour correction process and saves hours in post-production by helping to nail exposure, match multiple cameras, and maintain consistency during changing light conditions.

The ColorChecker Video XL provides an extra-large format for capturing the target at greater distances and wider angles. It features the same chromatic colours, skin tones, and gray reference chips as the standard ColorChecker Video but at twice the size. This eliminates the need to move the camera closer or adjust lens focal length, allowing shooting under the same lighting conditions as the subject and minimizing color casting from surrounding light. The larger size also enables higher capture resolution for more accurate post-production work. It is compatible with filmmaking tools such as waveform monitors, vectorscopes, and zebras.

The ColorChecker Video XL is an extra-large, durable, and rigid video target available alone or with protective options such as a carry sleeve or configurable carrying case.
XL Video Target Color Chips Include:
- Chromatic Colors: six saturated and six desaturated color chips aligned with vectorscope primaries
- Skin Tones: six color chips ranging from light to dark with different undertones
- Gray Levels: four larger steps for even gray balance including white, 40 IRE gray, deep gray, and high gloss black
- Linear Grayscale: six steps covering highlight and shadow regions for even gray balance
- Illumination Check Chips: black and white chips at two corners to assist in determining even illumination
