Neutral density (ND) filters are essential photographic tools that provide precise control over the amount of light entering the lens, enabling greater creative control of exposure. For video creators, ND filters allow shutter speeds to be matched to frame rates while maintaining depth of field.

HD Mk II IRND64 for Motion Blur and Flow Effects

The HD Mk II IRND64 filter is ideal for motion control and blurring moving subjects such as flowing water, waves, or people in motion. Without an ND filter, standard camera settings render movement as still in the final image. While reducing aperture to f/16 or f/22 can create a flowing effect, it may cause diffraction that degrades resolution and image quality. Additionally, cameras with a minimum ISO of 200 and fast prime lenses may not achieve sufficiently slow shutter speeds to capture flowing motion.
