Functionality and Usage
The NiSi ND1000 filter reduces light entering the lens by 10 stops, allowing photographers to use wider apertures or slower shutter speeds than normally possible. This enables creative control over depth of field and motion blur effects.
It is especially useful in bright daylight conditions outside of golden hour, where ambient light is intense and requires significant light blocking. With appropriate camera settings, it can extend exposure times up to 5 minutes during golden hour.
ND filters also help balance scenes with high contrast between highlights and shadows, improving overall exposure quality.
Compatibility
This circular ND1000 filter is designed to screw into the NiSi S5 150mm filter holder adapter ring after removing the included Pro Screw-In Circular Polarizer Filter. It is not compatible with the NiSi S6 filter holder system.
