This filter blocks 2 to 9 stops of light.

Please note: with all variable gray filters that, like this filter, work with two polarizing glasses, cross-linking occurs if the filter is closed too far. This occurs particularly at extremely wide angles, less so at telephoto ranges. This means that, depending on the focal length, part of the range in stops cannot be used.
