Combined Neutral Density and Circular Polarizer Filter

The PolarPro 77mm ND8 QuartzLine Solid Neutral Density 0.9 and Circular Polarizer Filter integrates a solid neutral density effect with a circular polarizer effect. It provides an 8x filter factor, resulting in a 3-stop exposure reduction. The 0.9 density darkens the entire image, enabling photography with wider apertures or slower shutter speeds than normally possible. This allows greater control over depth of field and the ability to convey motion more effectively.

Polarizing Effect and Image Enhancement

This filter reduces reflections and glare by filtering out polarized light caused by reflections from non-metallic surfaces. It also clears haze in distant landscapes and enhances color saturation, especially in skies and foliage. The strongest polarization effect occurs when used at a 90° angle from the sun.

Circular Polarizer Advantages

Unlike linear polarizers, this circular polarizer includes a quarter wave plate that circularly polarizes linearly polarized light. This feature ensures compatibility with autofocus and auto exposure functions on digital cameras, preventing disruption of these features during use.

The filter is constructed from durable quartz glass and features 16 layers of anti-reflection coatings.
